Spring BBQ 2021

Dear all,

The coronavirus has once more thwarted our plans to hold the Spring BBQ in Okuike, same as last year. Although the “State of Emergency’ will be lifted in Hyogo prefecture this weekend, there will still be `Special Coronavirus Measures’ in place, such as avoiding any dining with larger groups and prohibiting serving alcohol on weekends. With these measures, the Okuike BBQ operators are not comfortable to accept a group of 50 people (yes, that’s the number who signed up!) and gave us the choice to either postpone the event until after July 11 or to cancel it altogether. Considering that we will have the Swiss National Day celebration event at the Kobe Club on the 1st of August (invitation will be sent out this weekend), the committee had to make the painful decision to cancel the BBQ. We hope that the vaccination program will speed up from now on so that we can have a normal Autumn BBQ in October.

We will contact those who made sausage pre-orders separately. The sausages are ordered and will be ready on June 26.
